For 47 years, I'd never had a conversation with someone who looked like me. Then I met Charlie. Charlie and I both have facial birthmarks, but we grew up on opposite sides of the world and had never spoken before. In this episode, we talk about what it was like growing up visibly different, how people reacted to us, confidence, identity, belonging, and the strange experience of finally speaking to someone who understood without needing an explanation. This wasn't an interview. It was simply two people sharing an experience that very few people understand.
